DonorsChoose.org is a simple way to provide students in need with resources that our public schools often lack. At this not-for-profit web site, teachers submit project proposals for materials or experiences their students need to learn. These ideas become classroom reality when concerned individuals, whom we call CitizenPhilanthropists, choose projects to fund.
Why not submit a proposal for a Ropeworks inservice, or school assembly. Any individual or business, can search such proposals by areas of interest, learn about classroom needs, and choose to fund the project(s) they find most compelling. In completing a project, donors receive a feedback package of student photos and thank-you notes, and a teacher impact letter.
We'll be happy to help you create a proposal. You must meet the submission criteria:
Who is eligible to propose a student project?
DonorsChoose invites "front-line educators" at the public schools in our operating regions to identify the needs of the students they serve. Such front-line educators include teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, and coaches.
We are not able to accept proposals from administrators, PTA members or staff developers. We also cannot accept aproposal written by one teacher on behalf of another teacher.
